1. Pushups.
Pushups are one of the best exercises you can do for upper body strength and work the chest, shoulder and triceps (back of the arms) muscles.

Half dips are performed using a couple of chairs, a bench or a reasonably high step.

Bend down and place your hands over the front edge of the bench with your fingers facing down and forward. Your palms should now be on top of the bench and your fingers handing over the edge of the bench pointing down to the ground.

Now (with your hands staying where they are) place both feet forward so that your heels are resting on the ground at legs length in front of you.

In this position, your bottom should be just above and just in front of the bench, and your arms should be taking all of your bodyweight.

Very slowly and very carefully, lower your bottom towards the floor by bending your arms. Lower yourself to a position so that your arms are at close to 90 degrees (and is comfortable) with your bottom just above the floor.

After a very brief pause at the bottom, carefully raise your bottom to the start position.

If half dips are still too difficult, try doing them with your feet closer to the bench and your legs at 90 degrees.
If you have a Fitness Ball or Swiss Ball at home, these make great alternatives to chairs, benches and stairs for doing half dips.

Chin ups can be performed with a variety of hand grips, such as an underhand grip with hands about shoulder width apart, or a forward grip with hands wider than shoulder width apart.

Regardless of the grip used, chin ups can be very difficult in the beginning, but even if you can only do one at a time in the beginning, they are worth persisting with.

If you can't do one full chin up, try stepping on a chair or block of some kind to raise your body up and then step of the chair/block and lower your body down unassisted.

You'll also need to avoid Xenical if it gives you an allergic reaction.
Weight loss begins within 2 weeks and continues for 6 to 12 months. The effect of using Xenical for more than 2 years is still unknown.

Phendimetrazine is a sympathomimetic amine, which is similar to an amphetamine. It is also known as an "anorectic" or "anorexigenic" drug. Phendimetrazine stimulates the central nervous system (nerves and brain), which increases your heart rate and blood pressure and decreases your appetite. Phendimetrazine is used as a short-term supplement to diet and exercise in the treatment of obesity.

Phendimetrazine may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.

You cannot take phendimetrazine if you

have heart disease or high blood pressure;
have arteriosclerosis (hardening of the arteries);
have glaucoma;

How to take phendimetrazine?

Take phendimetrazine exactly as directed by your doctor. If you do not understand these directions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to you.
Take each dose with a full glass of water.

Phendimetrazine is usually taken once a day (sustained release formula) or two to three times daily (immediate-release formula) before meals on an empty stomach.
Do not take phendimetrazine in the evening because it may cause insomnia.
Do not crush, chew, or open any "once-daily" phendimetrazine tablets or capsules. Swallow them whole.

Never take more of this medication than is prescribed for you. Too much phendimetrazine could be very dangerous to your health.
Store phendimetrazine at room temperature away from moisture and heat.

Miss a dose, Overdose?
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose or if it is already evening, skip the missed dose and take only your next regularly scheduled dose. A dose taken too late in the day will cause insomnia. Do not take a double dose of this medication.

Seek emergency medical attention.
Symptoms of a phendimetrazine overdose include restlessness, tremor, rapid breathing, confusion, hallucinations, panic, aggressiveness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, an irregular heartbeat, and seizures.

Use caution when driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardous activities. Phendimetrazine may cause dizziness, blurred vision, or restlessness, and it may hide the symptoms of extreme tiredness. If you experience these effects, avoid hazardous activities.

Do not take phendimetrazine late in the day. A dose taken too late in the day can cause insomnia.

Side effects of phendimetrazine
If you experience any of the following serious side effects, stop taking phendimetrazine and seek emergency medical attention:

an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; or hives);
an irregular heartbeat or very high blood pressure (severe headache, blurred vision); or
hallucinations, abnormal behavior, or confusion.

Other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur. Continue to take phendimetrazine and talk to your doctor if you experience

restlessness or tremor,
nervousness or anxiety,
headache or dizziness,
insomnia,
dry mouth or an unpleasant taste in your mouth,
diarrhea or constipation, or
impotence or changes in your sex drive.

Phendimetrazine is habit forming. You can become physically and psychologically dependent on this medication, and withdrawal effects may occur if you stop taking it suddenly after several weeks of continuous use. Talk to your doctor about stopping this medication gradually.

Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.

Drugs that affect phendimetrazine
You cannot take phendimetrazine if you have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), tranylcypromine (Parnate), or phenelzine (Nardil) in the last 14 days.

Changes in insulin and other diabetes drug therapies may be necessary during treatment with phendimetrazine.

Phendimetrazine may reduce the effects of guanethidine (Ismelin). This could lead to an increase in blood pressure. Tell your doctor if you are taking guanethidine.
Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if you are taking a tricyclic antidepressant such as amitriptyline (Elavil), amoxapine (Asendin), doxepin (Sinequan), nortriptyline (Pamelor), imipramine (Tofranil), clomipramine (Anafranil), protriptyline (Vivactil), or desipramine (Norpramin). These drugs may decrease the effects of phendimetrazine.

Abuse of amphetamines and related drugs may be associated with intense psychological dependence and severe social dysfunction. There are, reports of patients who have increased the dosage to many times that recommended.

This drug must be used short-term only because long-term use can lead to psychosis, which is often clinically indistinguishable from schizophrenia.

Stopping the drug abruptly after high dosage administration, results in extreme fatigue and mental depression, as well as changes in sleep.

Benzphetamine Hydrochloride

Tolerance
Tolerance is the body's ability to adjust to the drug and to need higher doses to achieve the same effect. Tolerance to the anorectic effect usually develops within a few weeks. When this occurs the recommended dose should not be exceeded in an attempt to increase the effect rather, the drug should be discontinued.

Precautions
Benzphetamine should not be taken if:

Didrex may cause fetal harm when administered to a pregnant woman, and should not be used by women who are or may become pregnant. It is also excreted into breast milk and women taking Didrex should stop nursing.

Children under 12 should not take Benzphetamine.

Geriatric Use
Clinical studies of Didrex did not include sufficient numbers of subjects aged 65 and over to determine whether they respond differently from younger subjects. Other reported clinical experience has not identified differences in responses between the elderly and younger patients. In general, caution should be used in elderly patients due to the greater frequency of kidney, liver and heart problems.

Recommended Dosage
25 - 50 mg one to three times daily. Treatment should begin with 25mg once a day and increased only according to response. A single daily dose is preferably given in mid-morning or mid-afternoon, according to the patient's eating habits. Some may find a dose later in the day will cause insomnia (sleeplessness).

When properly used it can help the grossly obese lose weight, however it is a potent drug and shouldn't be used if you just have a few pounds to lose. In addition, serotonin reduces cravings for complex carbohydrates and curbs the appetite. The best-known examples of prescription medicines used to control obesity are:

Dexfenfluramine (Redux)
Fenfluramine (Pondimin), combined with another anti-obesity drug called phentermine (Phentrol, Fastin, Ionamin, Adipex), prevents the body from absorbing dopamine and norepinephrine, resulting in the sensation of being energized, while reducing the craving for sugar. Most of these drugs have been removed from the market (however, Fastin, Ionamin, Adipex, are still available) because of reports of heart problems (damage to the valves of the heart) and lung problems (i.e., pulmonary hypertension). Studies are under way to determine whether these valvular abnormalities will eventually reverse after the drug is withdrawn. The risks are highest in patients taking the drugs for long periods, or in high doses. Consumption for two to three months appears to do no harm. Patients treated with Pondimin, Redux, or phen-fenfluramine for more than three months may need to have a complete examination of the heart and lungs (including an Echocardiogram), if recommended by their primary physician, or if they have signs and symptoms of heart or lung disease. Patients on an antidepressant from the family of Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) such as Prozac, or antidepressants from the monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MOIs) may be at increased risk for dangerous side effects if they take these antidepressant with the diet drugs mentioned above.

Newer Prescription Diet Pills:

Sibutramine (Meridia), which works by keeping brain chemicals (neurotransmitters) such as serotonin and norepinephrine in balance, increases metabolism and has been shown to result in significant weight loss. Sibutramine also causes an increase in energy levels and a feeling of fullness. Side effects include dry mouth and Insomnia, High Blood Pressure, and some abnormal heart rhythms. Experts recommend that those with High Blood Pressure, heart disease or stroke, and those on medications such as decongestants, Asthma drugs (bronchodilators), monoamine oxidase inhibitors, or SSRI antidepressants, should avoid Sibutramine.
Orlistat (Xenical) is related to Olestra, a fat substitute (introduced in some food products such as potato chips), and acts by slowing down the production of Lipase, an enzyme in the stomach that breaks down fat. Orlistat does not suppress the appetite, but instead blocks absorption of about one-third of the fat consumed. A recent study indicated that when 892 obese adults were put on weight-loss diets, counseled on exercise, and assigned to one of two groups for a year, the group given Orlistat lost an average of 19 pounds, compared with about 12 pounds among those given a placebo (dummy pills). Furthermore, during the second year, patients who continued on Orlistat gained back half as much weight as the patients who switched to a dummy pill. The drug can cause gastrointestinal problems (gas, oily loose stools, and cramping) and may interfere with absorption of vitamins A, D, and E, so vitamin supplements are recommended.
In the past, amphetamines such as Methamphetamine (Desoxyn), Dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine), and phenmetrazine (Pleudin) were used for weight loss, but they are no longer prescribed due to serious side effects and risk of addiction. If these effects continue or become severe, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you experience: breathing trouble, chest pain, dizziness, fainting, vision changes, stomach pain, swelling of the feet or ankles, rapid pulse, unusual weakness, muscle aches skin rash. To relieve dry mouth, suck on (sugarless) hard candy or ice chips, chew (sugarless) gum, drink water or use saliva substitute. In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, breathing trouble. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Dexfenfluramine is what is called an eutomer of fenfluramine. An eutomer is a mirror image of another chemical structure. This is similar to your left and right hand that are basically the same but structurally opposite (mirror image)

Both fenfluramine and dex-fenfluramine have been tried as solo drugs for treating obesity. However they grew in popularity when they were used in an "off-label" co-administration with phentermine weight loss another drug. The resulting cocktail, Phen-Fen and Dexfen-Phen resulted to a more effective weight loss drug, or so we thought.

Today, fenfluramine and dex-fenfluramine are not used in weight loss drugs. Their side effects are considered to adverse compared to their benefits. Both Fen and Dexfen have been linked to heart valve disease though to a lesser extent than their cocktail phen-fen.
